From 1343 till 1382, the County of Provence is in the hands of the queen of Naples, Jeanne 1st of Anjou. In 1348, there is an epidemic of black plague.
In 1387, Louis II d' Anjou, nephew of the king of France Charles V, restores peace in Provence, after a political instability, famine and plague.
From 1434 till 1480, the good king René, the uncle of Louis XI, inherits from Provence in the death of his brother, being younger son of Louis II d' Anjou. The administration will leave a happy recollection, because it is a period of political and economic restoration.
In 1481, Louis XI receives Provence by Charles du Maine's will, nephew of the good King René d' Anjou. Henceforth, this one is united in France, in 1486 , by the ratification of the states of Provence reunited in Aix.
In 1515, it is François's 1st succession, after the death of Louis XII.
From 1524 till 1536, Provence is invaded with the Imperial, soldiers of the Germanic Empire.
In 1539, proclamation of Villers-Cotterêts's edict imposing the usage of French for the administrative acts.
In 1545, it is the massacre of heretical Vaudois in Luberon.
In 1562, from the beginning religious wars, Sisteron is competed by the Catholics and the Protestants.
In 1547, François 1st dies and it is the succession of Henri II.
On April 13, 1598: Henri IV signs the Edict of Nantes: he terminates religious wars by giving to the Protestants a definitive status. The edict restores civil peace. It grants to the re-formed the right to practise their religion in certain cities and gives them political and military guarantees (strengthened cities where to take refuge in case of threat.)
On May 14, 1610, Henri IV leaves in coach opened with about ten gentlemen to make a walk. In passing street of the ironworks ( very narrow passage), a congestion obliges the coachman to stop. François Ravaillac (a fanatic), rises on a border, takes advantage of it to carry three stabs in Henri IV. Henri IV dies murdered.)
Marie de Médicis asks then the parliament (who sits in the convent of the Augustines) to provide in the regency and in the government of the realm (Henri IV died for two hours only).
( Marie de Médicis is proclaimed queen mother bosses of the realm as long as her son Louis XIII (who is then 9 years old) is in bottom - age.
(On October 14-19, 1610, Louis XIII is sacred king in Rheims.)
(On September 27, 1614, the king Louis XIII celebrates its 13 years and his majority. He gets back to Paris, followed by 2.000 gentlemen. The queen puts back to him, in the presence of the parliament, the behaviour of business. Marie de Médicis is not any more a regent.)
On April 21, 1643: the dolphin, Louis XIV , is baptized.
On May 9: Louis XIII blames his doctor of the badly looked resources.
On May 14: Louis XIII dies. It is the birthday of the succession at 1 o'clock near, after 33 years of administration.
On September 7, 1651: Louis XIV is 13 years old. Proclamation of the majority.
