Dear Latil family member;

Several years ago I wrote to you or telephoned you concerning the preparation of a Latil Family Genealogy. After seven years research, we have completed the genealogy of the family through 2002. We appreciate the support and contributions of each of you in this endeavor.

During the preparation we have made every effort to qualify every reference and source used. There are several Internet postings that are wrong or are fully misleading. This book should provide a more complete and accurate history of the Latil family of Louisiana. Regrettably we found some Latils who are family members but because of the absence of confirming records we were unable to place them in the family line. Maybe this book will help others to connect these individuals to the family line.

The Latil family genealogy book contains 282 pages and includes a brief sketch of our Louisiana progenitor - Alexandre Antoine de Latil de Thimecourt sic, Alexandre Antoine Latil including his military career and business career in New Orleans ; the genealogy of the Louisiana Latils (USA) ; a brief genealogy report of the french heritage family ; a selection of documents relative to Alexandre and his children ; notes and facts about other Latils ; pictures, maps, and other interesting items and documents about the Latils of Louisiana.

There are several color illustrations. The book is spiral back bound but may be ordered unbound for future hardback binding.
